Research Study: Interpreting in Confrontational Settings – Challenges, Strategies and Ethical Considerations
Dear Interpreter,
Researchers at UNSW Sydney are conducting a research project about the way in which confrontational situations affect the work of interpreters in Australia. They are looking for practising interpreters who want to take part in this research and who are:
- Over 18 years of age
- Members of AUSIT and/or ASLIA and/or NAATI certified/accredited
- Currently practicing professionals (you cannot participate if you have not interpreted since 2018 as this research is about current trends)
Participation in this research is voluntary. If you do participate, you will be able to claim 10 PD points under the NAATI Professional Development Catalogue section 2.15. The process to claim the PD points will be explained in the Participant Information Statement, accessible in the link below.
It will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete the survey outlined in the Participant Information Statement, which contains a full description of the research activities, risks associated with these activities and any discomforts that you may experience during the research.
