NAATI releases refined assessment rubrics on 1 April 2024

As part of its commitment to proactive continuous improvement, NAATI launched a Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) in March 2021.

The primary aim of the CIP has been to undertake an in-depth analysis of the Certification System to ensure it remains fit for purpose, and that NAATI’s certification tests remain valid, reliable and practical to run.

Recommendations #16 and #17 of the CIP proposed a review of the performance descriptors of NAATI’s assessment rubrics, with a view to ensure greater clarity of the wording and allow for more details in the performance descriptors.

The review did not intend to change performance pass/fail criteria or the assessment process, and these remain unchanged.

The refined assessment rubrics will become effective from 1 April 2024. This means that candidates sitting their full test or a supplementary test from 1 April 2024 will be assessed under these refined rubrics. You can find these below.

Candidates sitting their test in March 2024 will be assessed under the current rubrics. Any paid review for a test sat in March will be conducted using the rubrics in use as of March 2024.

If you have any questions or would like further information on the refined assessment rubrics, please contact info@naati.com.au
