Interpreting during challenging times: building resilience and maintaining self-care
The Auckland University of Technology is conducting a study into how interpreters cope with challenges, build resilience, and maintain self-care.
All certified interpreters from Australia and New Zealand are invited to participate in this study which will take the form of a short questionnaire. Participation counts towards NAATI recertification points with 10 PD points claimable under Category 2.15.
This study sets out to explore the effects of change in working conditions on New Zealand and Australian-based interpreters and explore ways in which interpreters coped with significant challenges such as lockdowns and remote working, and how they attempted to maintain their resilience in challenging situations.
The findings of this research may be used for academic publications and presentations, as well as recommendations for training and professional development.
