NAATI is a not-for-profit company, owned by the Australian Commonwealth, state and territory governments, and has been conducting professional certification tests since 1977. We ran over 22,000 tests in 89 countries in 2022 via our digital platforms utilising advanced exam and proctoring software and our dedicated testing venues in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane.
NAATI was originally formed to support the post World War II migration boom by ensuring high national standards for the interpreting and translating profession, but we have come a long way since then.
Our significant investment into our testing infrastructure to meet our own requirements has allowed NAATI to offer services to external companies that are seeking testing solutions either in physical venues or through online platforms. The strength of NAATI’s testing capability has been highlighted recently as our online testing platform providers, Televic, were finalists in the e-Assessment awards 2023.
We have hundreds of invigilators, supervisors, role players, and technical support staff that deliver testing daily, so you can be assured that your exams are in safe hands.
NAATI digital testing utilises the AssessmentQ platform which is owned and developed by Televic Education. The platform is ISO 27001 (international standard for information security) compliant, and data is retained on Australian servers.
To ensure test security and prevent candidates from attempting to gain an unfair advantage we utilise Proctor Exam, a top 5 proctoring solution owned by Turnitin, the American-based company renowned for their anti-plagiarism tools used by 15,000+ institutions. Turnitin also meets ISO 27001 standards.
NAATI security is aligned with the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s Essential 8 maturity level 3 standard.
These platforms and their integration have been rigorously tested in tens of thousands of real-world examinations.

NAATI’s Sydney testing venue is our newest location having opened in June 2023. It has 5 dedicated testing rooms, a 12-person board room, and is conveniently located next to Town Hall station. All rooms are fitted with acoustic paneling and fully configurable for your testing or meeting needs.
NAATI’s testing venue in Melbourne is a large purpose-fitted venue with several small testing room, a large board room and meeting room, large candidate waiting area with lockers and kitchen facilities.
NAATI’s testing venue in Perth offers 4 dedicated testing rooms (12sqm to 17sqm), 1 multipurpose room (30sqm) and dedicated waiting areas with kitchenette.
NAATI’s testing venue in Brisbane offers 2 multipurpose rooms at 27sqm and 2 multipurpose rooms at 73sqm.
