Monash University: Mental Health Interpreting
Intended for practising interpreters already working in the industry, this course examines the principles and practices associated with interpreting in mental health settings. Topics covered will include common mental illnesses, working with counsellors, psychologists and other professionals, as well as resources and guidelines for interpreters. This two-day course is composed of presentations from expert professionals in the mental health field and experienced interpreters, and practical exercises to establish best practice when working in the area.
